FULL NAME sirius orion black
NICKNAMES padfoot, snuffles, black, siri, the prisoner of azkaban
GENDER male
AGE & DOB thirty five
YEAR n/a
BLOOD TYPE pureblood, regrettably
HOUSE gryffindor alumni
AFFILIATION against the death eaters. always need to be clearing that up. no dark mark, regardless of what the prophet says. he's a member of the order of the phoenix, however if we were placing priorities in order, his affiliation is to harry potter and the marauders (rat excluded)
ORIENTATION heterosexual
WAND sirius' given wand was fifteen inches, with blackthorn wood and a phoenix feather core. but who knows where that thing ended up? the wand he's currently using he bought off mundungus and aside from its appearance it's anyone's best guess. he'd rather not think about where it came from.

LIKES James, Remus, Harry, Tonks, the Weasleys (except for Molly, most of the time), good pranks, firewhiskey, muggle vehicles, being treated like an actual member of the Order, excitement, shattering people's expectations, anything that breaks up the monotony, Buckbeak
DISLIKES Pettigrew, Snape, the Ministry of Magic, the Dursleys, #12 Grimmauld place, his family (save Andromeda), being useless, halloween, Order meetings
STRENGTHS loyal, gutsy, resilient, unpredictable. particularly strong at dueling (so long as following the rules is disregarded), defying the odds, and disregarding authority to follow his intuition. also worth mentioning, his animagus form is probably one of his most advantageous assets
WEAKNESSES he's impulsive, immature, arrogant, cynical, has almost no forsight, or ability to trust, superimposes parallels, and tends to disregard defensive spells when fighting
DESIRES killing Peter Pettigrew, clearing his name, and getting this bloody impending war over with so Harry can have the life he wants
FEARS sirius black obviously isn't scared of anything... however he does have a very strong irrational paralyzing distaste for dementors and associated conditions. then obviously, there's loosing harry or remus, particularly because he can't protect them because of his situation
DEMENTOR walking into the potter's house on halloween, 1981
PATRONUS it was originally resemblant of his animagus form. no memory applicable as he hasn't been able to cast one since azkaban
OVERALL PERSONALITY Sirius is generally seen as very reckless and impulsive, jumping into situations with little to no regard for the consequences of his actions. (This is not a false statement.) He was a prankster throughout his school years, one of the infamous never forgotten Marauders, and while he wasn't always the tactical mastermind behind their ideas, he found himself a rather daring executioner. He held up a guise that he was fearless and invincible, and though in that sense he's been long since proven wrong, he appears to keep those standards to this day. Along with being daring, he's nothing short of a clever and competent wizard. And though his social skills are a bit out of practice, he can still charm his way in and out of most anything with ease.
Despite this he can, however, be extremely difficult to get along with. With a mentality that he's up against the entire word save maybe two people, everyone is an enemy until they proved themselves otherwise and Sirius is always on his guard. He picks fights and withdraws from conversations when he doesn't like where they’re going. Its not unusual for him to say one thing and means the exact opposite. It’s in his nature to always appear superior and confident, no matter what he actually believes. He's arrogant, he's immature. And though he will sometimes later admit his uncertainties, they never stopped him from doing anything when he had his mind set on.
On occasion he can be incredibly wise and ethical, but has a hard time living up to his own advice, especially in regards to people. He once firmly believed in living life with no regrets, but that's one of his bits of wisdom he'd far from following himself. His temper can be explosive and bitter, and he usually doesn't mean for things to come out that way. (Unless of course he does, and you'd know when he was really angry at you, without a doubt.)
Throughout everything, theres no doubt about the fact Sirius is and had always been incredibly loyal. He wouldn't hesitate to do anything for his friends and those he considered his family. He’s passionate, despite anything he'll ever say, and that's one of the reasons he can't put up all the walls around himself like he'd like to all the time. He puts a hundred and ten percent into anything he really cares about, and if he feels strongly about something being right, you can't no matter how terrible the consequence, convince him otherwise.

HAIR long, black, and wavy, with upkeep depending largely on his mood
EYES gray- a lovely trait of the Black family, fathomless and intimidating, half due to genetics and the other circumstance
BUILD tall and thin- not horribly so anymore, but it's still noticeable that he'd been
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES i mean, nothing says distinguishing like having your face plastered on the front page of every newspaper under the word's mass murderer- but he has a good few tattoos and scars, if you want to get to that
ATTIRE he doesn't exactly get to do his own shopping, what with being on house arrest and all, so he can't be too picky- but from a young age sirius has detested wizarding robes and you wont be likely to see him in them, ever. since money isn't a problem from him and after living in tattered prison garb for so long he's got a new appreciation for finer items, he's usually very well dressed.

BIRTHPLACE London, #12 Grimmauld Place
CURRENTLY LIVING London, #12 Grimmauld Place - much to his frustration
HISTORY Sirius didn’t have the best of childhoods. Actually, he’d go as far as to say he had one of the worst. He was born in 1960 as the oldest child to Orion and Walburga Black, and raised as the heir to his 'great' family. Besides being a typical family of the upper class, they strongly supported the idea of pureblood supremacy in the wizarding world and rejected- for the sake of making this list shorter, lets just say generally everyone that wasn't them or immediately related (incest, you see. nasty stuff, horribly effects). Sirius was taught at an early age how he was supposed to dress and behave, and who he could and couldn't associate with. His interactions with other children were very limited, time spent indoors in a "proper" making his a rather restless child.
Sirius’ cousins and brother all wordlessly followed what they were told, but as a young child -and to this day- Sirius had a particularly hard time thinking before acting. He liked having fun and there wasn't much fun to be had in Grimmauld place, especially after the birth of his brother. Despite the fact that everyone was an infant at some point, Sirius tended to regard his brother as a thing seeking protection (and this would continue for most of his life). Much to his parents chagrin, Sirius' favorite game was twenty questions. And while he was very obvious the "best" member
of his family- he was not above misbehaving when he didn't get his way.
He must have been about five when his mother pulled him aside at a banquet, taking him into a dark room and giving him her uttermost 'concern' that he was going to be a squib, and then of course would have to face the appropriate punishment (death or disownment).
Sirius proved her wrong of course. Exposed to only wizarding families that used magic for everything, as soon as he started to show signs of magic he did everything in his power to prove himself capable. (Not to mention being able to use magic had its advantages in the ways of fun.) It didn't take long for him to realize though that despite being at least moderately talented with magic, he still would never be a person his family was proud to be related to; Regulas had earned himself the role of the prized son. It had been a competition to the point, and Sirius couldn't stand the idea of loosing to a smaller child. And so he began changing his tactics, going out of his way to do everything his family forbade, and they as expected went out of their way to punish him for his disobedience.
Going off to Hogwarts, Sirius had been completely ecstatic. He wanted nothing more to spend the year away from home and learn magic. He’d been warned well what would happen if he wasn’t a Slytherin or if he associated with mudbloods, but he listened to the warning with less than half an ear. He wanted at least one muggleborn friend- if only to irk them some. There wasn't anything they could do to him anymore. At least, until the summer. Which was far enough away it might as well have not mattered. Sirius soon found himself sitting next to James Potter on the train, teasing a greasy little git he’d names Snivellous and his red-headed girlfriend. Before long they’d become acquainted with Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew. He'd decided they'd be his best friends before ever stepping onto Hogwwarts ground.
Somehow they’d all landed themselves in Gryffindor; the greatest shock to everyone other than James. Other than the Marauders (not yet named) Sirius didn't go making many friends in his first year. Both Gryffindors and Slytherins were particularly distrustful of him, and the older ones especially weren't afraid to mention it. Sirius received a howler the day after his sorting, but he heard nothing of his parents for the rest of the term. When things finally settled down, the Marauders began shaping their legacy as the most popular kids in school, top of their classes, expert pranksters, flying stars, and utterly charismatic.
The prospect of returning home for holidays had caused Sirius to begin getting upset a week in advance, and when he did return with no say in it to the Most Noble and Ancient House of Black, it became impossible to go for a day without hearing someone use the term "blood traitor". (Bellatrix, is particular, seemed fond of the two words.) Sirius tended to be incredibly reactive and explosive since he hadn't yet mastered his signature bad mouth and careless attitude. It had gone from frustration and disapproval to hate. Now let's fast forward.
He began picking fights with Regulus over the summer, trying to get his brother to see things his way before he went to school as well. Later, he'd blame the fact that his brother went Death Eater on himself. In trying to assert his opinions, he certainly scared Regulus with the prospect of punishment from their parents. In fact, Regulus' tactic for survival in the house became being everything that Sirius wasn't.
In their second year, Sirius, James, and Peter had found out about Remus’ lycanthropy and decided to become animigi to assist him during the full moons. The process took multiple years and was very difficult and dangerous, especially with their tendency to cut corners and get off topic each practice session. They were successful though, and from then on once a month -and whenever else they felt like it- Sirius was a large black dog. He’d been giving the nickname Padfoot the same year, and their group as a whole finally became the Marauders. That name, along with fantasies of glory sparked when James and Sirius began using their free time -homework and sleeping time usually- to scour around the secret passageways in the castle, gave them the idea for the Marauders Map.
The group's relations with the Slytherin trio, and everyone they associated with by default, had began getting violent. For the first three years, the Marauders had limited themselves to simple pranks. Pink robes and green hair, the occasionally overgrown limb or other grotesque obscenity. But Sirius felt that once real fights broke out he began learning some valuable lessons. Things like that fact permanent sticking charms work on people or that you can escape a straight jacket by dislocating your shoulder. (They had a competition who would get the most detentions in one year. Sirius won.)
On his next return home Sirius put up permanent Gryffindor banners and posters of muggle girls, motorcycles, and popular rock bands. Regulus and Sirius had begun a game of silent treatments, the former now an established member of the aforementioned Slytherin gang and dabbling into the dark arts books. The fights at Grimmauld Place had been involving curses for some time. Sirius, knowing that his mother's patience wouldn't last longer and he'd be kicked out, decided to beat them to the chase and run away. That night wasn't particularly special; it was on of those sticky summer day, Walburga was screaming, someone had hexed him (he couldn't be arsed to remember who it was), and he actually just said bye and walked out the door. It had been an impulsive decision; one that got him blasted off the family tree. He hadn't thought about where to go, but he grudgingly found himself at the Potter’s house and they, much to his surprise, took him in with very little question and very strong affection. His Uncle Alphard also sympathized with him and left him a large inheritance (which would prove particularly helpful int he future). The remaining month of summer and the next one, would mark Sirius' only 'family' experiences.
Returning to school again it seemed things couldn't have gotten better. That was until the feud between Snape and him reached its peak. Since year one Sirius and his friends had harassed the Slytherin with pranks and something big to kick off the new year had been in order. Sending Snape to the Shrieking Shack had actually been with the intent of protecting Remus, who Snape had all but called out already (Although, Sirius had done it out of anger when Snape harped him about a more personal subject). Sirius hadn't at any point thought that Snape could be killed, but later he'd admit that even if he was, it would have served the nosy idiot right. The instance caused a conflict with both his friends and Snape's friends- Avery in particular, who saw it fit to attempt some sort of revenge, that Sirius almost accepted willingly (Not cause he felt bad about Snape mind you, but the Marauders weren't associating with him). It didn't take too long for his friends to forgive Sirius though, and he was grateful. Because if they hadn’t, he had no idea what he’d have done with himself. Their Graduation ceremony went out with a bang- literally. The quartet had dedicated their last two months to that prank alone. They hid the Marauders map on campus with a fond farewell message to whomever next found it and they graduated proudly.
Sirius had a lot of things he’d wanted to do after graduation and none of them really involved fighting a war. However, war had started and for him it was extremely personal. Since picking fights with Death Eaters and pureblood insanity was sometimes he was used to fighting on a regular basis, he was quick to join the first Order of the Phoenix. The battles of the war were just that, battles. Bloody, difficult, but glorious to win. James and Lily had married just before the break out, after a bachelor party that was both the Marauders first and last time in a muggle amusement park. In the midst of the war, Lily became pregnant and gave birth to Harry Potter, Sirius' godson.
Voldemort had taken a interest in Harry - something they found out after only two months and Sirius would never quite forget the look on Dumbledore’s face when he gave them the news- and the Potters were to go into hiding. James had decided adamantly that Sirius should be their secret keeper; a brilliant plan, other than the fact it was obvious. Sirius was well aware Voldemort would go strait for him, and he’d be tortured for information. Of course, yes, he would willingly die for James and Lily and Harry- he’d willingly be put through a fate worse than death. But he had a lingering fear something would go wrong, especially with all the mind altering Unforvigables that he'd seen first hand used in battle. It was probably the first and only time in his life he'd ever done anything "to be on the safe side", and really only because it was James' life on the line, he convinced them to have Peter be their secret keeper. He was a meek thing, one they’d never go after. And with Peter, James, and Lily hiding, Sirius was still the decoy that Voldemort would chase. It was flawless now. Flawless had Peter not been a Death Eater.
On Halloween night Sirius knew something had went wrong. He knew it was wrong at Pettigrew’s empty house. He knew it was wrong the whole trip to Gordic’s Hollow. The house was destroyed and the first thing he was met with in the hallway was James' dead body. Sirius had taken Harry out, the poor kid. But Hagrid came and took him away, to live with some muggle relative of Lily’s that they'd all never gotten along with. He wasn't happy about it, but he gave Hagrid his flying motorcycle and wished them the best. He had other things to do.
He tracked down Peter with every intention of murdering him, but he was outsmarted. The rat knew him well enough. Peter exploded the street, killed twelve muggles, and faked his own death. Sirius was captured by Aurors and sentenced to a life in Azkaban without a trial. For twelve years hew was tortured by Dementors, forced to relive and create an obsession with his friends’ deaths, Peter’s betrayal, and his innocence.
In 1993 he became the first person to ever escape Azkaban, managing to regain enough strength to transform into his animigus form where it was harder for Dementors to sense his mind. He found out from the Daily Prophet that Pettigrew was posing as Ron Weasley’s rat at Hogwarts. He slipped through the bars and swam across the North Sea (because the island really needed the extra layer of protection). It was probably one of the stupidest things he'd ever done as far as survival chances went, but you couldn't really underestimate sheer determination.
Sirius stayed around Hogsmeade after managing a glimpse of Harry one night. He lived off scavenging the local shops and became acquainted with Hermione’s cat who saw him and Peter for what they were without any trouble, attempting even to bring him "Scabbers". Impatient with the plan that ultimately failed, he snuck into Hogwarts himself. Finally in June he dragged Ron and Pettigrew together down to the Shrieking Shack. Harry himself would have killed Sirius if it wasn't for Remus, who’d seen Peter on the map and realized what had happened. They revealed Pettigrew's true form and were about to kill him after telling the story to the children. Harry, assuming that it would be in James' best wishes, managed to convince them out of the deed.
Sirius was disheartened (and not quite convinced) but managed to obey Harry. Once again, time proved to be everything but on his side. It was the night of a full moon and Remus hadn't taken his potion in the mess of things. Sirius was forced to transform and fight Remus to protect the children (and Snape, but he didn't really matter- save the fact that killing anymore probably would have destroyed Remus' psyche) but Pettigrew escaped and Sirius was wounded. The dementors that had been guarding Hogwarts surrounded them and nearly administered the Kiss on both Sirius and Harry, but Harry’s patronus in the form of James’ animigus (long story, long long story) saved them. Though this seems like the perfect place to put a happy ending, Snape, with all the nerve after he'd been knocked out, recaptured Sirius, and he was sentenced to the Dementor Kiss... again. The trio helped him escape courtesy of Hermione’s time-turner and he was sent on the run as a wanted man.
After sending Harry a last message, he lost contact with his godson and friends, focus on getting away and then diverting the Ministry’s attention from the school. He ran around until the TriWizard Tournament, when he returned to Hogsmeade and lived in caves for the better part of the year, until receiving word from Dumbledore that he was the go to Remus, and then reband the Order of the Phoenix. Sending the alleged mass-murderer to go gathering some of the most powerful wizards in the world hadn't seemed like a good idea, but Sirius had taken the job gratefully. He informed Dumbledore of his family’s old house, now in his position, and they went to work on making it secure enough for headquarters and clean enough for human inhibition. He doesn't like it... in case anyone cares (not that they do). He hates it, he's going crazy, and had he known that he was going to get trapped there he NEVER would have offered the house, but such a thought had never crossed his mind and that's exactly what happened.

Sirius was only a few feet away from the door when footsteps down the stairs caught his attention. (It couldn't just go smoothly. Not even this once.) He could have made it out still, easily, but not without chance of waking up his dear old mum's portrait. And he couldn't exactly leave the hag and Kreacher alone to mingle on their own free will. He'd be in enough trouble when the idiot house elf decided to inform the Order about his leaving the house. It seemed best to refrain from compromising their headquarters in entirety on top of that. He learned against the wall and met eyes with the second most disgusting reminder of his childhood. "What?"
"Where is Master going? Master is not supposed to leave the house. Filthy blood traitors all said. Said Master is supposed to stay in the house."
"If I recall correctly they also said that you were to shut up and behave. It looks like nobody's listening today."
"Poor Mistress was right. Master Black is a fool. Master Black is going to get himself killed with his mudblood friends and Kreacher will have the house to himself again."
The only thing that kept Sirius from wringing Kreacher by the neck was that fact that as he beamed at the prospect of his death, he shuffled away, probably to go announce his victory to some old worn garment of Walburga's- which was disturbing in more ways than he wanted to think about. Sirius shut the door softly behind him and scowled. "We can only hope."
He stood on the porch for a second, looked down at the street, and basked in the fact that for the first time in too long he was out of the house, breaking the rules, and doing something useful. Sirius wasn't a big fan of rumor chasing, but it was sure better than finding out after the fact - after more people had died. ("It was death Eaters." "No kidding, congratulations on that riveting discovery"). The order seemed to be doing a lot of that lately. But Sirius didn't really know what the Order was doing. It seemed he was that last person on the planet to find out anything, save maybe Harry (Misery loves its company). The last person who'd shown up at Number 12 was Mundungus- and he's far from the most reliable of the lot- over a week ago. That's who Sirius got this tip off though and good lead or no, it was a reason to get out and he wasn't thinking twice about it.
Sneaking out, breaking rules, taking on death eaters- That was all good. Sirius was prepared for that... eager even (which probably wasn't a good thing, but point aside). They only thing he hadn't allowed himself to think about ahead of time was the location of this tip. It wasn't until after he apparated to Godric's Hollow that the reality sort of sank in. This was the place James and Lily died. He hadn't been there since of course, and fifteen years wore on it like it did everywhere else - everyone else. Mundungus had actually, surprisingly given specifics, but his 'specifics' tended to come with 'give or take a few hours..a few miles..who were we talking about again?' and so Sirius wasn't surprised that he stood around for a while, and nothing happened, searched around for a while, and didn't find a trace that anything had happened. It was entirely possible that nothing even would happen, and he certainly wasn't going to stand around in the middle of the street and wait. (He'd done that before. How well that had gone for him). He walked for a while -padded; he'd long since shifted to his animagus form without conscious thought- and found himself going from somewhat familiar territory to too familiar territory. For all it was different, the scene had played out in his head so many times his mind easily played tricks on him. He shifted once more, but even as a human couldn't describe anything that went through his mind save the overwhelming feeling of being in over his head and wanting out of it. Oh, and he didn't plan on taking any more suggestions from a drunk Mundungus..ever.
