FULL NAME Remus John Lupin
"Hello, my name is Remus John Lupin, I suppose you would like some information concerning my name correct? Well I suppose we should start with my first name, Remus. It was a bit of irony that my parents chose this for my name since during my youth I was bitten by Fenrir Greyback, turning me into a werewolf. Remus was one of the two founders of Rome, a child raised by a mother wolf with his brother Romulus. John is a biblical name, and therefore fairly common in the Christian community, he was the son of Saul and further means "The Lord has given". My surname Lupin means "of a wolf", now I am unsure of how this came about in my family, but it still presents a large amount of irony for me, no? My name ultimately means "The Lord has given, Remus, of a wolf." A phrase that could be interpreted as meaning God gave me this gift, while I am unsure of it, I know that it is my name and mine alone."

I did indeed join the Order after graduating as well, and helped with the war effort. 19 years after I left Hogwarts I did return to become a member of the staff as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, but keeping with the tradition, I left the very same year."

"Naturally, The Potters are the people of who I am the most fond. James and Lily were both two of my best friends in their lifetimes, and their son Harry exceeded my wildest expectations of how great their son could possibly become. Hogwarts was like home to me, it was where my friends were, as they were the only ones who accepted the true me outside of my family. Dumbledore was a great man indeed, he knew of my affliction, but still encouraged my enrollment to my parents. He also was an extremely accommodating man when it came to my Lycanthropy, and even devised a clever way to ensure that others were safe those nights that Remus was absent.

"As a long time victim of bigotry and harassment over something that I cannot help, I have developed a serious disdain for it. Though, when I was younger I often let my friends get away with bullying Severus when i was around simply out of the fear of losing the acceptance I had come to hold so dear from them. Of course, I still hold no love for Snape, but I am enough of a man to tolerate his presence while he continues to remain a member of the Order. I have always had little patience for overt buffoonery from others, even if I done my own share of pranks in the day, I was nowhere near the level of The Weasely Twins. While I still do enjoy their company, occasionally their lack of any amount of seriousness does wear upon my nerves. And, naturally, above all else I disdain the time of month during which I go through the change. While I can appreciate the idea of the Moon's beauty at the height of its cycle, I still always dread that night."

Lupin is rather talented with charms, being able to help create the complex Marauders Map with his friends during his time at Hogwarts. He has also displayed a great proficiency with transfiguration magic, on one occasion, being able to force animagus Peter Petigrew into his human form. In order to be accepted as a Defense Against the Dark Arts instructor, Remus had to have a high level of knowledge in the coursework, his specialization seeming to be in the creatures associated with Dark Magic.

Lupin is also considered an open-minded man, thanks to the prejudiced he has faced, Remus has grown up to be accepting of others and tolerant of them.
